San Diego Brewcyling Collaborative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization helping craft brewers divert large volumes of production and packaging plastics that are not addressed by curbside recycling systems. The materials we recycle include malt bags, plastic can carriers, shrink wrap, and green PET pallet straps, as well as cardboard and aluminum.

TRY FERMENTING CHANGE — A COLLABORATION BREWED FOR A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

Fermenting Change is back for its second annual beer collaboration, bringing San Diego’s craft beverage community together to celebrate sustainability, collaboration, and a more circular future.

This year, Societe Brewing brewed a crisp, refreshing Helles at 5% ABV, with ingredients generously donated by Country Malt Group and Haas Hops. The result is a delicious, easy-drinking beer that proves that great things can happen when our craft beverage community comes together with a shared purpose.

The collaboration helps support San Diego Brewcycling Collaborative’s ongoing efforts to divert hard-to-recycle production waste through our BREWSCRAPS program, connecting breweries with collection, transportation, and recycling solutions for materials like malt bags, shrink wrap, and green PET pallet strapping.

The inaugural Fermenting Change collaboration launched in 2025, when Pizza Port brewed a West Coast IPA with ingredients donated by RahrBSG and Yakima Chief Hops. What started as one beer and a shared commitment to sustainability has grown into an annual collaboration celebrating the people and businesses working together to create positive change across San Diego’s craft beverage community.
